Alan was introduced by Eddie Spenser Jr. as his 'little brother', to the surprise of Jake Kong Jr. and Tracy the Gorilla. Eddie then explained that that he had joined a 'Big Brother' programme to help youngsters by way of supporting them. Unfortunately, when Eddie helped Alan with his homework, Alan got a 'D'.
Alan lived next to Dr. Ricer and his young daughter Amanda, but he grew annoyed by Amanda's tendency to talk to her pretend friend 'Gagoo'. When he witnessed Amanda sneaking aboard her father's Ultrasub when it was stolen by Apparitia and Long John Scarechrome, Alan insisted in helping the Ghostbusters rescue her.
