The Cemetery was a creepy place the ghost busters always ended up visiting during each episode. The ghosts usually first appear in the episode at the cemetery.
In the episode Dr. Whatshisname, it is stated by Dr. Frankenstein that the cemetery is the doorway to the great beyond. This is why he and his creation have to return there several times to materialize his laboratory equipment.
