Davis lived in the year 2960 and worked as a scientist. He developed the Mega-Laser as a means of drilling tunnels through solid rock on Pluto. Unfortunately, Prime Evil appeared and with the help of Sir Trance-a-lot, stole the Mega-Laser so he could use it for evil.

Although Davis is never identified by name on screen, his name is listed in the original draft script which is included as an extra on the Ghostbusters DVD boxed set.
