Haunter | |

Appeared in | Ghostbusters |
Voiced by | Peter Cullen |
Haunter introduced himself as a 'civilized hunter of haunted prey'. He was a ghost who wore a full safari outfit; the hat doubled as a means of transportation. A servant of Prime Evil, Haunter used his evil magic to turn people mean.
Personality[]
Being British, Haunter was groomed and well-mannered. He was prone to addressing Prime Evil as "Old Boy" or "Old Bean", which always provoked PE's ire.
Appearance[]
Haunter's overall appearance was derived from the stereotypical British safari hunter (see Van Pelt in Jumanji). His facial appearance, mannerisms, and speech were all derived from British comedian Terry-Thomas.
History[]
Haunter's wardrobe and personality identified him as a native of the Victorian Era.

Trivia[]
- Haunter usually relied on his ghostly powers, rather than hunting tools. He used his safari helmet as a weapon as well as a means of transportation and sometimes carries a big butterfly net.
- In the episode The Curse Of The Diamond Of Gloom he threatens the Ghostbusters with a pointy spear, but Eddie Spenser Jr. pulls a pencil sharpener from out of his ghost pack and makes short work of Haunter's weapon.
- In the episode The Bind That Ties he proved himself very effective using a Stun-bolt crossbow.
- Haunter was the only ghost not to abandon Prime Evil when Hauntquarters was taken over by Big Evil. (A Friend In Need)
- Not to be confused with the Pokémon of the same name, which happens to be a ghost-type.
