- There are at least two references to Charles M. Schulz's famous Peanuts comic strip. First, The Red Baron is the nemesis of Snoopy's Sopwith Camel pilot persona. Second, "Sparks" is a play on "Sparky", Schulz's nickname.
- Eddie Spenser wears a flight cap and goggles while posing as Lord Smedley Hardgrove. His son Eddie Spenser Jr. would wear the same headgear as part of his Ghostbusting outfit.
- Spenser once again imitates James Mason when posing as Lord Smedley Hardgrove.
- Zero's message is inside a Smith Fire Hose Company door.
