Sancho Panza was a fictional character created by writer Miguel de Cervantes. Pancho appeared in the novel Don Quixote, which was originally published in two volumes, in 1605 and 1615. The book is usually presented as one long volume in modern times.

In 1986, a young Spanish boy named Humberto de la Torres could not get enough of reading Cervantes' book. When the boy's family found themselves threatened by a three man biker gang consisting of thugs Black, Red and Yellow, the ghost of Don Quixote appeared out of the fallen book to aid Humberto and his parents.

Quixote was accompanied by his horse, Rocinante, his loyal servant, Sancho Panza, and Sancho's donkey, Dapple, all of whom appeared in ghost form.

When the Ghostbusters were called in by wealthy businessman Enrique Sandoval, they assumed the Ghosts were the ones bothering the De La Torres household instead of the biker gang.

Eventually the Ghostbusters and the literary Ghosts teamed up to defeat the biker gang, who admited to be working for Enrique Sandoval. The businessman wanted to scare the De la Torres family off their land so he could claim the copper mine that was hidden under it.
