Swab was first mate to ghost pirate Captain Harpoon and the second on command on his Ghost Ship that made the entire galaxy unsafe sometime in the near future.
When Harpoon hatched a scheme to use the Ghost of Moby-Dick in his scemes to plunder space faring luxury cruisers it was up to Swab and his men to kidnap the Ghost of Captain Ahab from the Phantom Prison Planet and separate him from his best friend, the white whale, by capturing him and holding him in chains on the Phamtom Prison Planet.
Swab remained on planet to keep an eye on Ahab, with the aid of two Outlaw Ghosts. However,, Futura, Jessica Wray and Time Hopper managed to rescue Ahab by allowing themselves to be taken captive and brought to the place Ahab was being kept. Together they sought out Moby-Dick to help the Ghostbusters free the great white whale from Harpoon.
Swab later joined Long John Scarechrome's pirate crew aboard the Lucky Lady.
